What is the difference between Haemophilia and Leukomeia ?how are both caused?

Hemophilia is a genetic disease in which the patient does not develop a proper blood clotting mechanism. It is a X- linked recessive disorder which involves lack of functional blood clotting factor.

Leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood cells (leukocytes) in which there is abnormal increase in the number of immature white blood cells. . This makes them dangerous for the body as the crowding makes the bone marrow unable to produce healthy blood cells. Also, the composition of blood will deviate as a result of it causing further problems and it may cause death. It is not a inheritable disease

There may be several causes of leukemia like

  • DNA mutation
  • exposure to harmful radiations or chemicals
  • infection by some viruses
  • chromosomal abnormalities

Hi,

Haemophilia and Leukemia are kinds of blood cancers with different symptoms and treatment procedures. The difference between Haemophilia and Leukemia is that a hereditary genetic disorders of blood clotting factors, causing excessive bleeding. On the other hands, Leukemia is a type of blood cancer characterized by an abnormal increase of white blood cells.

Causes

Hemophilia is nearly always caused by a genetic error causing the lack of a normally functioning clotting factor:

Hemophilia A involves a lack of functional clotting Factor VIII.
Hemophilia B involves a lack of functional clotting Factor IX.
Hemophilia C involves a lack of functional clotting Factor XI.
Hypofibrinogenemia involves a lack of functional clotting Factor I.

Experts don't know what causes leukemia. But some things are known to increase the risk of some kinds of leukemia. These things are called risk factors. You are more likely to get leukemia if you:

  • Were exposed to large amounts of radiation.
  • Were exposed to certain chemicals at work, such as benzene.
  • Had some types of chemotherapy to treat another cancer.
  • Have Down syndrome or some other genetic problems.
  • Smoke.

But most people who have these risk factors don't get leukemia. And most people who get leukemia do not have any known risk factors.

Hope it helps you.
