What is the difference between resistor and variable resistor ( rheostat )?

Dear student,

Resistor is the electrical component that is used in a circuit to provide resistance to the flow of current.

Rheostat-

Rheostat is an electronic device used for varying current in the circuit by changing the value of resistance.

It is the one of example of variable resistor.

Regards.
