the function of thyroxine hormone is to control the rate of metabolism of carbohydrates,fats and protiens in the body.iodine is necessary for making the thyroxine hormone by the thyroid gland.the defiency of iodine in the diet of a person produces less thyroxine hormone and cause a disease known as goitre.

The function of thyroxine are: 1)It control the rate of metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and protein in the body. 2)Iodine is neccesary for the making of thyroxine hormone by thyroid gland. 3)Deficiency of throxine due to deficiency of iodine in the diet cause a disease called goitre.

Regulates Body temperature by energy production
