What is the meaning of AIDS ? please tell me the answer

AIDS stands for Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. It is a viral disease caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
HIV virus attacks the cells of immune system and kills them. As a result body immune system becomes weaker and cannot fight against diseases. Thus HIV infected persons do not have immunity or capability to fight against pathogens that attack our body.
AIDS can be prevented by :

AIDS is transmitted by the following means:
- AIDS can be transmitted by sharing contaminated needles while injecting drugs.
- AIDS can be transmitted by having sexual contact with an infected person.
- AIDS can also be transmitted from an infected mother to the child through pregnancy or breast feeding.
- Transfusion of infected blood.
AIDS can be prevented by :
1. Using condoms while sexual intercourse.
2. Using fresh unused syringes for injections.
3. Proper checking of donor's blood for transfusion.
4. Avoiding multiple sexual partners.
