What is the valency of Aluminium whose atomic number is 13 ? Give reason.

NO. OF PROTONS =ATOMIC NO. =13

NO. OF ELECTRONS = NO.OF PROTONS =13

DISTRIBUTION OF ELECTRONS = K-2 , L-8 , M-3

VALENCY = 3

give the reason also

  • 0

BECAUSE OUTERMOST SHELL WHICH IS M HAS 3 ELECTRONS .

  • 3

let me make you understand

see the atomic no. of aluminium is 13

so electronic distribution in K,L,M,N shell is 2 , 8 , 3 respectively

so in the outermost shell the no of electron is 3

it would take less energy to loose 3 electron than to gain 5 more electron to complete its octet

so the outermost shell has 3 electron and it looses 3 electron therefore the valency is 3

it is to be noted that if the outer most electron has 1-4 electron it looses them but if the electron is 6-8 it gains electrons

if the electron in the outermost shell is 5 then the valency is alwayz 0

if you like the answer plz give a thumbz up ... bye and take care !!!

Ans: If the atomic number of Aluminium is 13, then its valency may be 3 or may be 5.

aluminiums valency is 3..

3 is a valency of al.
  • 0
Aluminium valancy is 3
  • 0
Aluminium valancy is 3 but atomi no is 13 mag

  • 1
Its valancy is 3 because aluminium needs 3 more electrones to fill up the shell.
  • -1
Valency is. 3because the no. In last shell is means in m shell is3 so thats why valency is3
  • 0
Valency is -3 as it will give electrons to complete its octet
  • -1
Valency of Aluminium will be 3 as it will donate 3 electrons to anothe element form an octet.
