what is tissue culture and its advantages?

Tissue culture is  the production of new plants from a small piece of plant.Tissue removed from the growing tips of a plant in a growth medium or culture solution is called tissue culture.

Advantages of tissue culture

Very fast growing technique and many plant lets can be produced within a short time from very small amt.of plant tissue.

This plant are disease free and very little space is needed for there growth and this method can grow plants around a year.

tissue culture is a artificial method of cultivation of plants which involves of removing of tissue or seperating cells from a plant and letting it grow in a sterile and nutritive medium. Once it has grown for a certain duration it is placed back into the soil so that it can grow into a mature plant.

Advantages of tissue culture:

  1. very fast technique
  2. many plants can be developed from a single plant
  3. the plants produced are disease resistant
  4. commercially viable

it is an artificial mode of reproduction which requires one part of the parent plant to create many plants of the same species. its advantages are:

  1. many disease free plants will be obtained from one parent plant
  2. plants grown by this process grow faster than compared to the naturally grown ones
  3. it is mostly used for growing ornamental plants(flowers)

The technique or process in which plant tissue is grown into a cultured medium possessing all the necessary conditions required by the plant is called tissue culture. Advantages:- By applying this technique , it is possible to produce a large number of plants in a very short time and in limited space.hence the technique is called micro-propagation. Plants produce are genetically identical to the original or source plant and hence they are called somaclones. Many economically important plants like tomato , banana , apple , etc have been produced on a commercial scale by the use of this method.

Plant tissue culture is a collection of techniques used to maintain or grow plant cells, tissues or organs under sterile conditions on a nutrient culture medium of known composition. Plant tissue culture is widely used to produce clones of a plant in a method known as micropropagation. Different techniques in plant tissue culture may offer certain advantages over traditional methods of propagation

Tissue culture is an artificial method of cultivation of plants which involves removing of tissue or separating cells from the growing tip of a plant. The cells are then placed in an artificial medium where they divide rapidly to form a small group of cells or call us. The callus is transferred to another medium containing hormones for growth and differentiation. Once it has grown into a plant let then it is placed in the soil so that it can grow into a mature plant. Advantage :- Using tissue culture many plants can be grown from one parent in disease free conditions.

Tissue culture Tissue culture is the process of culturing single line cells under sterile, controlled invitro conditions by exposing them to nutrients, hormones and specific amount of sunlight. There are different steps involved in the tissue culture process. These are the steps of initiation, sterilisation, shoot induction and root induction. Advantages of tissue culture *Tissue culture helps us to produce more copies of same plant with desired characters like big fruits, more fruits, colourful flowers, disease resistance etc. *Tissue culture helps us to produce plants which do not depend on seasonal changes of that area for particular yield. *As seedlings are made available, planting is possible all through the year. *All the plants developed by tissue culture are uniform at size, shape and their yield. They are exact clones which resemble each other. *Time taken to obtain mature crop is very less. *Crops are almost pest and disease resistant. *Tissue culture techniques are cost effective.

Tissue culture :It is a method of growing new plants by culturing the isolated cells or tissue in an artificial medium under aseptic condition. Advantage : 1.)using tissue culture many plants can be grown from one parent in disease free condition . 2.)this technique is used for ornamental plants like orchids chrysanthemum .
