What is tithes?

Dear Student,

Please find the answer below

'tithe' was the tax paid as 1/10th of the agricultural produce, produced by the peasants, and this was made to be paid by the church in olden days.
It actually is tax paid to the government as a contribution to the religious establishments, specifically one-tenth part of something.

Hope this answered your question. Look forward to hearing from you again!

A tithe is a one-tenth part of something, paid as a contribution to a religious organization or compulsory tax to government. Today, tithes are normally voluntary and paid in cash or cheques, whereas historically tithes were required and paid in kind, such as agricultural produce.
