What is yhe meaning of being mutually exclusive events ??

Dear student. Two events are mutually exclusive when they cannot occur at the same time. In terms of biology, growth and reproduction are mutually inclusive events in unicellular organisms like bacteria. But in higher plants and animals, growth and reproduction are mutually exclusive events as they do not occur together. Regards
