What makes Bama to study so hard?

Dear student

Bama's brother explained to her, how she was born into a community that was an outcast. She was shunned for her caste, and therefore he told her to study hard, to prove the snobbish higher caste members wrong. The brother tells her how they are never given any honour or dignity or respect. But if she studied and made progress, she can throw away these indignities. These words made a very deep impression on her, and she studied hard, thus coming first in class.
