What were the things that the narrator tutored the village astrologers?

The narrator had tutored the village astrologer about what paraphernalia he was to take out and what he was to say to Ranga in order to make him believe him that he was destined to marry Rama Rao's niece, Ratna. Shastri, who was the village astrologer took out two sheets of paper, some cowries and a book of palmyra leaves. He moved his lips fast as he counted on his fingers. He pretended to calculate and told Ranga that his matter of concern was a girl who has a name of something found in the ocean. The narrator pretended to have caught the hint and mentioned Ratna's name thereby making it seem as if the astrologer's prediction came to be true.
