what will happen if we apply immense pressure on air and the temperature remains the same throughout the process? will it still change its state of matter?how much time will it take?

Dear student,

Air is present in the whole earth, so if you are saying that you are applying pressure this simply means pressure must me in such a way that the pressure of the whole earth should be increased otherwise there is no way to increase atmospheric pressure. If you do it this way then yes it there will be a change in state.

We can also do this by taking air in a cylinder and then a piston is placed which increases pressure. By doing this gases will change their state to liquids and this process takes place suddenly, it will not take too much time because at the time when that pressure level achieves in which gas is converted into a liquid it will suddenly convert into liquid.
