What would happen..

1. What would happen if a camel is shifted from the desert to the Antarctic? Mention the changes required for a camel to stay in that place.
2. Polar regions have extremely long days in summer and extremely long nights in winter. What is the reason behind it?

Dear student,

If a camel is shifted from a desert to Antarctic, it will not be able to survive in this case. Changes required by camel to stay in Antarctic are:-
1. It should have thick fur on his skin in order to protect himself from extremely cold conditions in Antarctic.
2. As we all know that camel is a herbivore that is the animals that feed on plants or leaves. Antarctic region does not support vegetation such as plants and leaves. So camels need to develop a system that can eat algae etc present in that region.
3.Camels need to have paws in order to walk on ice.

I have answered your first query. Kindly ask the other question in a separate thread.

Thanks and regards.

1) If a camel will be shifted from a desert to antarctica the camel will die as there will be change in climate. If it has to adopt to the surrounding it should have thick fur and it more and have more fat because the fur ,fat layer keeps the camel warm. 2)

2)The polar regions have extreme days and extreme nights because the north and south pole lie very far from the sun. As the earth rotates the the pole facing towards sun will have extreme days and the pole that is not facing towards sun will have extreme nights.
