When, common salt is dissolved in water ,it’s freezing point-: a. Increases. b. Decreases. c. Remains constant d. None

Solution
when a non volatile solute is added to a pure solvent, it results in the relative lowering of vapour pressure, elevation in boiling point and depression in freezing point of the resulting solution.
These three are colligative properties of solutions which depends on the quantity or number of solute molecules and not on quality.
Thus adding NaCl to water, boiling point of water will become more than 1000C and it's freezing point will become less than 00 C.
hence freezing point decreases. Thus option (b) is correct
