Cuscata is a parasitic plant, it has no chlorophyll, and cannot make its own food by photosythesis. Instead it grow on other plant, using their nutrients for its growth and weakening the host plant.
The genus of this spicies is found throughout the temperate and tropical regions of the world with the greatest spicies diversity in subtropical and tropical regions; the genus become rare in cool temperate climate, with only four species native to northern Europe.
