Who was the real founder of the Turkish empire in India? Give the reason.

The real founder of the Turkish empire in India was Qutub-ud-din Aibak. Even though it was Mohammad Ghori who established Turkish rule in India following his victory over Prithvi Raj Chauhan in 1192, he did not rule over India. Instead, he left Qutub-ud-din as his Governor in Delhi. It was only after the death of Ghori that Qutub-ud-din declared himself the Sultan in 1206, thereby marking the true establishment of the Turkish empire in India. Qutub-ud-din founded the Slave dynasty which ruled over northern India till 1290.
