Flowers are called reproductive structures of plant as they contain both male and female parts which reproduces to produce pollen grains and eggs.Each of them fertilizers and produces embryo which eventually produces new plant. 

Male structure in plant is referred to as stamen which produces pollen grains. 
Female structure is referred to as carpel which has three parts stigma, style and ovary, out of which ovary contains egg.
