why are the sunrays never vertical on the artic circle

Dear student,

Sun rays are never vertical at the arctic circle due to the spherical shape of the earth. The sunrays that fall are only oblique on the poles.

it is because the rays of the sun are vertical at arctic circle and when it is summer solstice maximum it reaches tropic of cancer and not more above than that
