They are set up because when there is a gas leakage they can evacuate and they have set up far away from residential areas.

It is easier to transmit electricity over long distances than to carry coal oil or gas over the same distance. therefore many thermal power plants are established near coal or oil fields

Thermal power plant is a power plant where steam is used to drive a steam turbine and heat required for process is obtained from coal and oil .The thermal power plant are usually set up near coal or oil fields so that the fuel can be easily obtained and the problem of air pollution while transporting the fuel may be minimized
