why are thermal power plants set up near coal or oil fields

thermal power plants need coal or oil for heating water to produce electricity, so they are set up near coal or oil field to save money which is wasted in transportation of these resources.

hope it helps :)

So that money is not wasted and to conserve fuels

They are set up because when there is a gas leakage they can evacuate and they have set up far away from residential areas.
  • -6
It is easier to transmit electricity over long distances than to carry coal oil or gas over the same distance. therefore many thermal power plants are established near coal or oil fields

Thermal power plant is a power plant where steam is used to drive a steam turbine and heat required for process is obtained from coal and oil .The thermal power plant are usually set up near coal or oil fields so that the fuel can be easily obtained and the problem of air pollution while transporting the fuel may be minimized

Thermal power Need call or oil for heating water to produce electricity so they can set up near coal or oil field to save money which is wasted in transportation of these resources

Thermal power plants are generally set up near coal or oil fields because to generate power it needs to transport bulky amount of coal or oil ,so its better to have plants near the mines.
  • -5
because the coal obtained from mining is used in these thermal power plants to obtain energy
  • -1
Thermal power plants are set near coal or oil fields because the transportation cost of these fuels becomes less. They are sometimes set near seashores so that they can import coal or oil in an economical way.
  • -2
because transmission of electricity is more efficient than transmitting of coal or oil over the same distance.
