The text of Agamemnon, written by Aeschylus, seemed to him to be just about Greek words strung together. If any student was unable to write them correctly then it would invite a punishment of writing fifty lines.Taplow considered the play to have a good plot about a wife murdering her husband but he had problems with the way in which the play was taught to them.
