Why did the narrator not care to see the silver cutlery they had once belonged to them?

When narrator entered in mrs. Dorling's house,she felt a litle obsessed after seeing her mother's belongings. She started having nostalgic feeling, so she didn't bodhered to stay there anymore therefore she didn't saw the silvery curtlery belonging to her and she went out of the house.
