WHY DO SOME PEOPLE OPPOSE DAMS? GIVE ONE REASON.
Dear Student,
Though dams are meant for the development of the national economy but there are many problems associated with the dams where they are constructed.The land gets degraded in the area's where they are constructed,and there is a chance for flood.Also soil erosion may take place. and many more problems are linked to dam construction that is why people oppose and they are also displaced from their native area's for the sake of dam construction. Large river projects can cause the displacement of local communities along with destruction of their homes . Poor farmers suffer as their agriculture land is taken away .
