Why do we say air exerts pressure but not force
Dear Student,
Air is nothing but a type of gas .Take a gas in side a container it exerts force on each point on the wall
of container so overall force on the container due to these forces is zero as it cancel to each other
due to random direction at each point . But pressure we calculate in unit area so there is net force on
unit area that is why gas /air exert pressure not net force .
