Why do we write ambulance inverted even if we use convex mirror as rare view mirror and we know that convex mirror form erect then what is the need of writing ambulance invertely

Reason behind writing word 'Ambulance' inverted is, the mirror that used in the vehicles are convex mirror which form laterally inverted image of any object from left to right but not from top to bottom.
We know that convex mirror form erect images but simultaneously they form laterally inverted image from left to right. While on the other hand concave mirror form real and inverted image that means the formation of the image will be upside down.
So the word 'ambulance' is written inverted, by that any vehicle that is on the way of ambulance can easily read the word and make the way for it.
Another reason to use convex mirror as rear view mirror is that they give an upright image and provide a wider field of view.
