why does a tabla with tight membrane vibrate at a higher pitch than a tabla with a loose membrane?

Dear Student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:
  • The pitch of tabla sound depends on frequency of sound produced.
  • As the frequency of membrane is directly proportional to the tension of the membrane, it can be concluded that higher pitch sound is produced in the case of tight membrane.

this is because frequency determines the pitch or shrillness of sound.
take a rubber band and stretch it tightly using your hand  and then tell your friend to pluck it , we can hear pitched sound  .then stretch is loosely and then tell your friend to pluck it you can hear a low pitched sound.
