Why does blue colour of copper sulphate solution starts fading when a zinc rod is dipped in it ?

Blue color of CuSO4 fades when zinc rod is dipped in it. This happens because zinc is higher up in the reactivity series than copper. So zinc reacts with the solution displacing copper to form ZnSO4and the Cu metal gets deposited over the rod. The ZnSO4 solution is colourless and hence due to the formation of this solution the blue color starts fading. The following chemical recation takes place.
Zn + CuSO4 → ZnSO4 + Cu

Because zinc rod is more reactive than copper sulphate

the reactivity is a list of metals arranged in the order of there decreasing activities

1.> K potassium - most reactive

2.>Na sodium - "

3.>Ca calcium - "

4.>Mg Magnesium - "

5.>Al aluminium - "

6.>Zn Zinc - reactivity decreases

7.>Fe iron - "

8.>Pb Lead - "

9.>H - "

10.>Cu Copper - "

11.>Hg mercury - "

12.> Ag Silver - "

13.>Au gold - least reactive
