Why does path difference change by lemda/2 after reflection from denser medium ?
- During the reflection from denser medium, the phase difference is equal to pi radians or 180 degrees.
- The path difference corresponding to 180 degrees is equal to half of the wavelength.
- Hence, change in path difference is equal to lambda / 2 corresponding to the reflection from denser medium.
