Why does pressure of oxygen fall inside the lungs when we go to high altitudes?

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

The air is thinner and temperatures are usually much colder at high altitudes. There is less oxygen in the air that you breathe. This means that all of the blood from all areas of the lungs is relatively deficient in oxygen or hypoxic. The lungs respond to the shortage of oxygen by tightening the blood vessels. But because all areas of the lung are lacking in oxygen, all of the blood vessels in the lungs constrict. This causes pressure inside the lungs to fall.

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
