why dust comes out of the carpet on beating??

Inertia of an object tends to resist any change in its state of rest or state of motion. When a carpet is beaten with a stick, then the carpet comes to motion. But, the dust particles try to resist their state of rest. According to Newton’s first law of motion, the dust particles stay in a state of rest, while the carpet moves. Hence, the dust particles come out of the carpet.

when the carpet is beaten with a stick, dust comes out of it as the loose dust in it are in the state of rest. when the carpet is hit with a stick , it is suddenly set in to motion , but the loose in it remains in the state of rest because of inertia of rest. thus, in a way dust is left behind relative to carpet and hence comes out in air.

when we hit carpet  with stick, the carpet moves tro and fro but the dust  particles remain at rest ,due to their inertia.so the come out

Because when you shake it the particles break free of the threads!

It is due to the inertia of an object, that is every object tends to continue in its state of rest or of motion. When we beat capet with a stick, then carpet changes its state to motion. But dust particles want to continue its state of rest and hence due to that they remain there and fall down due to gravitational force. This can be proved by law of inertia.

When we beat the carpet the dust particles inside the carpet tend to stay at rest whereas due to the beating the carpet is in motion ,Due to the law of inertia the dust tends to fall off as it is still in rest
