Why glucose can't be utilized as it is as?

Dear student,
We get energy by the oxidation of glucose and the production of ATP. The bonds of glucose has to be broken down to release energy in the form of ATP, therefore it has to go through glycolysis, krebs cycle and electron transport chain to produce ATP.
