Why is a digital thermometer preferred over clinical thermometer?

Digital thermometers are preferred over clinical thermometers because:-
1) Clinical thermometer contains mercury which is a toxic substance and difficult to dispose off if a thermometer breaks , but digital thermometer does not have mercury and it is safe for use.

2)In clinical thermometer, there are chances of some human error depending upon the user up to which accuracy he measures the temperature.

 So, due to the above reasons digital thermometers are preferred over clinical thermometers.
