Why is Archimedes Principle applicable only for fluids ?

Archimedes principle is applicable only for fluids because:

• Only fluids exert buoyant force.
• An object cannot be immersed in a solid, but it can be immersed in a fluid.

This is because of the way of arrangement of particles in fluids.
