Its due to whenever the vehicle will see in their mirror so they can clearly see ther word ambulance so that they can give the ambulance space to pass away quickly..

because  if you are driving a car which is ahead of the ambulance you can see it uninverted as you can only see it from mirror as, an inverted immage in mirror becomes un-inverted
