why we are not able to see the candle flame through a bent pipe

because light travels in a straight line

Hi!!!
When we try to see a candle flame through a straight pipe , we can see it very clearly but, in the case of a bent pipe we cannot see it because light travels in a straight line and never bends. We are able to see because of light and it cannot pass through a Bent tube, as a result we cannot see the candle flame. This property of light of traveling in a straight line is known as The Rectilinear propagation of light. Thus, the candle flame cannot be seen through a bent tube as light doesn't bend.
Thumbs up!!!

We are not able to see the candle flame through a bent pipe as light travels in straight line.

Because light travels in a straight line not in a bent line that is why we cant see the candle flame through a bent pipe.
This activity proves that light travels in a straight line and this movement is known as rectilinear propagation of light.

When there are more than two interpretations of an ambiguous stimulus it is called multi stable. The Necker cube is one of the most classic examples of a bistable figure. Sometimes it looks like it is facing upwards while at other times it is facing downwards.
