Dear student.
2. The individual female structure of a flower is called carpel. It consists of style, stigma and ovary. A single or many carpels form the pistil of the flower. Carpels produce ovules inside the ovary.
Ovary: Ovary is a part of the female reproductive organ of the flower. It contains the ovules which later develop into seeds.
Stigma: It is the receptive tip of carpel in a flower. The function of stigma is to collect pollen grains.
Ovary has a pipe-like extension called style. It connects stigma to the ovary.
3. Placentation is the arrangements of ovules within the ovary. Based on the arrangement pattern it is named as Marginal, Axile, Parietal, Free central and Basal. Axile placentation is seen in Hibiscus.
