With the help of a suitable diagram, explain the meaning of terms (a) centre of curvature (b) optical centre (c) focus of a concave lens.
Dear Student ,
CENTRE OF CURVATURE: The reflecting surface of a spherical mirror form a part of sphere. It has a centre which is known as Centre of Curvature. It is denoted by (C).
Optical Centre :It is the central point of lens through which a ray of light passes without suffering any deviation.
Focus of Concave Lens: It is also know as focal point. The point on the principal axis where all parallel lines meet after reflection. It is denoted by (F).
