Write differences between :
Systole - Diastole
Veins - Arteries
Xylem - Phloem
Dear student,
Regards
Systole | Diastole | |||||||||||||
Rhythmic contraction of the chambers of the heart | Rhythmic relaxation of the chambers of the heart | |||||||||||||
It helps in emptying of blood from heart Following are the differences between arteries and veins:
| Leads to refilling of heart with blood |
XYLEM | PHLOEM |
xylem transports water and minerals from the roots to aerial parts of the plant | Phloem transports food and organic nutrients such as sugar and amino acids from leaves to storage organs and growing parts of plant. |
On maturity Xylem exists as non-living tissue. | phloem exists as living cells. |
Transportation in Xylem is unidirectional i.e. can only move upward. | Transportation in phloem is bidirectional i.e. can move up or down the plants stem. |
Structure of xylem is tubular with hard walled cells | Phloem is also tubular but with soft walled cells. |
