y does blue colour of copper sulphate get discharged when zinc rod is dipped in it??

given electrode potential for (Cu2+/Cu)=0.34 Vand electrode potentialfor(Zn2+/Zn)=-0.76V

Eocell = Ecathode - Eanode.
Oxidation occurs at anode while reduction at cathode.
So,  Eocell = EoCu2+/Cu  - EoZn2+/Zn
Eocell  = 0.34 -(-0.76)
Eocell = 1.1 V
As Eocell  is positive, therefore reaction is spontaneous, that is, reaction will occur. Hence the colour of the CuSO4 solution will be discharged. So we should not place CuSO4 solution in Zn pot.
