CNG is considered as environmental friendly fuel because it emits very lesser percentage of all the environment pollutant such as CO2, nitrogen oxide , particulate matters, carbon monoxide, ozone as compared to diesel and petrol. Moreover carcinogens is also produced in very lesser amount as compared to other fuels.

CNG doesn 't produce a lot of particulate matter (smoke) when it burns. It 's also fairly easy to "scrub" to reduce impurities so it doesn 't make a lot of sulfur oxides that cause acid rain.
