    Give two differences between biodegradable and Non - biodegradable substances.

     Biodegradable substances Non-bio degradable substances
    Biodegradable substances are those which can be broken down by microorganisms and insects etc into substances which are taken up by soil. 
    Thus, they can be decayed by the action of microbes.
    Non biodegradable substances do not decompose naturally since they cannot be decayed by the action of microbes.
    They are generally considered less harmful to the environment. They are considered more harmful to the environment. 
    Examples: Vegetable peel and paper. Example: Plastic items such as plastics bags, plastic containers, etc.
