Introduction to Computers

Do you know there was a time when owning computers was considered a luxury? But nowadays, they have become a necessity and are being used everywhere like in schools, industries, homes, sports and for defence and agricultural purposes, etc. A computer is a very unique device, which can perform several functions at the same time. Computer can be defined as an electronic device by which we can add, process and store the data, and get the result in the desired form.  In computers, a set of instructions is called a programme and a set of programmes is known as a software. Do you know who was the person behind this great discovery? Charles Babbage, a mathematician, was the person who designed the first computer. Hence, he is also known as the ‘father of computers’.
