Albert found himself miserable both in his school and quarters at Munich. What were the reasons for his misery and how did he attempt to get out of the situation?

Dear student

Albert was miserable in school because he did not see the point of going to school, simply to memorise useless details like historical dates and facts and felt that he was not getting the correct form of education. He was not happy at his lodgings either. He did not mind the fact that the lodgings were uncomfortable, or that the food was bad. He was even able to put up with the dirt and the squalor. But he hated the atmosphere of slum violence.

In an attempt to get out of the situation, he asked his friend Yuri to arrange an appointment for him with a doctor. Upon meeting the doctor, Albert told him that he wanted to leave school because he was going to have a nervous breakdown.
