An auditorium is of w metres . Its length is twice its width . What is the perimeter

We have,width of the rectangle = wNow, length of the rectangle = 2×width = 2wPerimeter = 2length + breadth = 22w + w = 2 ×3w = 6w units

Let the length of the rectangle be L and the width be W.

Given that the length is twice the width, Then :

L = 2W .....(1)

Let the perimeter be P.
==> 2L + 2W = P
==> 2L + L = P
==> 3L = P

Therefore the perimeter of the rectangle is three times it's length.
