An old person is unable to see clearly near by object as well as distant object.

a) presbyopia . this defect is caused due to aging

b) bifocal lens . upper half is made of concave lens and lower half is made of convex lens which helps old people to see both near and faraway objects .

b)The reasons for hypermetropia are either because i)the focal length of his eyes is too long or ii) the eyball has become too small. A convex lens can converge the rays of light at the retina,and thus to see a distant object clearly he should use converging lens.
