The complications in pregnancy can be both routine problems and serious. Routine problems include morning sickness, swelling etc. whereas serious problems may include ectopic pregnancy,severe nausea etc.

The routine problems are normal complications, and pose no significant danger while Serious problems can cause death of both mother and baby if not treated.
