can we produce petrol and coal  in labs

Dear Student,

Coal and petroleum cannot be prepared in laboratory because coal and petroleum need anaerobic condition, high temperature, high pressure and million's of years. All these conditions are not available in laboratory so it cannot be prepared in laboratory.

Formation of coal and petroleum is a natural process, this happens due to the decomposition of organic substances, and hence has lot of carbon molecules. This process takes millions of years. So it is potentially impossible to produce it in labs.
