​Describe the circumstances leading to the awareness among the consumers and steps for promoting their welfare.

There are various means which created awareness among the consumers like:
Education and knowledge about the quality.
The integration of economies, greater production of goods and services ,varied choices etc
The advertisement of the products have made the consumer much aware.
For the welfare of consumers the Consumer Protection Act, 1986  was enacted which provides for protection of consumer interests against various forms of exploitation such as defective goods, deficiency in services, unfair trade practices, etc. Under the Act a three-tier machinery comprising of District Forum, State Commission and National Commission have been set up for the redressal of consumer grievances
