Difference between migration, immigration and emigration

Dear Student,

Migration: It means the movement of people from one country to another.
Immigration: It means migration(movement) 'to a country' of which you are not a native in order to settle there.
Emigration: It means migration(movement) 'from your native country' in order to settle there.

For example, if someone who lived in India moved to France, they would have emigrated from India and immigrated to France, and the whole process of moving from one place to another is called migration.
