Differentiate between the fission of unicellular organisms - leishmania , amoeba , plasmodium , giving diagrams.

Dear student,

In Amoeba, Binary fission takes place, which consists of  nuclear divisions followed by cytoplasmic divisions producing two cells from a single parent and each have a daughter nucleus.

In Leishmania , binary fission takes place in a definite orientation, basically in relation to their whip like structure. Thus, it is different from that of Amoeba.

In Plasmodium, multiple fission occurs. In this process, â€‹repeated divisions of the nucleus of the parent cell takes place, leading to formation of many daughter nuclei. This is followed by division of the cytoplasm and its cleaveage around each nucleus. Thus, several daughter cells forms in the parent cell. Under favourable conditions, the parent cell ruptures and releases all the daughter individuals.

Regards.
