explain why the s-block elements are very reactive.

s-block elements are metals. A metal has a property of loosing electrons. The metal which looses electron more easily is more reactive one.

s-block elements have one or two electron in their outmost e shells, hence they  become stable by giving up one electron easily (low ionization energy) to become singly charged positive ions, i.e. cations.

Hence they are highly reactive and require vvery least amount of energy for their reactions.

s block elements are highly reactive because the loose their valence electron easily to attain octet. All of the atoms of alkali metals have one electron in their outmost electron shells, hence they attain octet configuration or become stable by giving up one electron easily (low ionization energy) to become singly charged positive ions, i.e. cations.

Hence they are highly reactive and utilize very very least amount of energy for their reactions.
