It is Universal Rural Employment Programme.
It was launched on 25 September 2001attain the objective of providing gainful employment for the rural poor.
Some of it's objectives were as:
(a) Primary Objective
The primary objective of the Scheme is to provide additional and supplementary wage
employment and thereby provide food security and improve nutritional levels in all rural
areas.
(b) Secondary Objective
The secondary objective is the creation of durable community, social and economic assets
and infrastructural development in rural areas.
